Closure of Leys Lane – Experimental Traffic Order Commences 29 July 2024 for 12-18 Months

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Solihull Council has made an Experimental Order under the provisions of Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and all other enabling powers. The Order shall come into effect on 29 July 2024 and will remain in force on an experimental basis for a maximum period of up to 18 months. The general nature and effect of the Order will be as follows:-

Experimental Prohibition of Motor Vehicles
Leys Lane, Meriden – for a short distance between its junctions with Leymere Close  and Mons Avenue.

General Exemptions
Access for cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained.

Order Modifications
Where it appears necessary for certain operational or other purposes, the Council, or any person authorised by them may modify or suspend the Order or any of its provisions whilst the Order is in force. In due course, the Council will consider whether or not the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the Order coming into force, (or if any or all of the Order provisions are varied or modified by another Order, from the date of that variation or modification Order, whichever is the latest), any person may object to the making of the Order to continue on a permanent basis.
