As a local Parish Council, all our councillors have an active interest in the community. Although councillors are not paid, they abide by the local government code of conduct, so must declare any financial in the parish which can include employment, business, and land ownership. At council meetings, councillors must also declare any personal or prejudicial interest in matters being discussed.

MPC works under the Solihull Area Committee Charter which sets our how SMBC and Parish Councils can better work together where there are shared interests so to better work to benefit local people. All councillors are thus required to notify SMBC’s Monitoring Officer of their Disclosable Pecuniary Interests by completing a declaration of interest form.
